About the
Author
I love writing mysteries with quirky, intriguing characters. Not only do I want to pique your interest with a suspenseful tale, but I also want to make you smile at unexpected times. I hope you enjoy my style of writing.
A little about me—I was born in Wilson, North Carolina (1950) and raised in Newport News, Virginia where I graduated from Newport News High School (1969) and then received an Associate Degree in Machine Technology from Thomas Nelson Community College several years later. I now live in Stanardsville, Virginia with my husband of 387 years, three donkeys, chickens, a dog and a cat. I have two adult children and one grandchild.
Over a period of twelve years, I’ve published
eight books in my Jesse Watson Mystery series:
What You See, South River Incident,
A Crying Shame, Middle River Murders,
Greene County Killer, Death on the Bella Constance,
All About the Money, and The Prey Bites
Back. I am currently working on book #9, Be Very Afraid.
In 2006, I was chosen as Favorite Virginia Author—Cooperative Living Magazine, much to my (delightful) surprise. Five of my books have been nominated for a Library of Virginia Literary Award.
When I’m not writing, I spend my time social networking, gardening, raising farm animals,
and spending time with my family .
When I’m not working or playing, I love to read books on Kindle.

The
best thing about writing is that you can let your
imagination run wild, and I do.
People often ask me, is
your character,
Jesse Watson based on your personality? I reply that,
yes, in some ways, but not in all. Aren't many writers
similar to their protagonist? I'd like to think that I'm
as level-headed and open-minded as she is. I think it's safe to say, I'm
the lively, out-spoken spirit of Jesse.
All the books in my mystery series are
set in beautiful Greene County, Virginia and
feature heroine, Jesse
Watson and PI partner, Billy Blackhawk.
